The Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD) along with participating early care and education (ECE) centers offers half-day (AM & PM sessions) and full-day (limited sites) four-year old kindergarten (4K) program for the Madison community. The 4K program uses a curriculum that allows children to learn through play, benefiting four-year-old children by providing them with a jump start on school.
Families with 4K and 5K students new to the district must complete the 2023-24 online enrollment application and finish the enrollment process with your school by providing proof of address, proof of your child's date of birth, verification of parent/guardian identity and relationship, and immunization records if we cannot use the Wisconsin Immunization Registry (WIR) to retrieve your child's immunization records.
School staff will be available from 2 - 6:00 p.m. on March 6 to assist with questions related to enrollment. You have the choice to verify your student's enrollment documents in-person at your attendance area school or schedule a Zoom meeting with your school. If you choose to verify your student's enrollment documents through a Zoom meeting instead of bringing them to your home attendance area school, contact your school after you submit your online application.
